On July 9, 2010, DEUTZ AG will be opening its doors to the public for the second 'Nacht der Technik', an evening dedicated to engineering and technology in Cologne. Last year, numerous visitors took the opportunity to look behind the scenes at DEUTZ during the first 'Nacht der Technik'. This year, engineering and technology enthusiasts will again be able to visit DEUTZ's technology centre in Cologne-Porz.
The museum enables visitors to experience the earliest days of engine development up close. The exhibits include a number of historic engines still in working order, including the atmospheric gas-powered engine no. 1 developed by DEUTZ's founder Nicolaus August Otto in 1867 and the first four-stroke trials engine. Built in 1876, this engine was the basis for all modern internal combustion engines.
The hourly guided tours of the engine museum will start at 6.30 p.m. For information about the ticketsales and registration, visit
