DEUTZ at World of Concrete 2010

  • DEUTZ AG presents solutions for US EPA Tier 3 / Tier 4 interim emissions ca
  • Introduction of the new engine series TCD 20XX

DEUTZ points the way to the future at World of Concrete 2010 in Las Vegas. One of the foremost construction industry tradeshows in the U.S., World of Concrete 2010 will be the stage for DEUTZ to present the latest of its full line of engines, rated from 30 to 700 hp to meet stringent U.S. EPA Tier 3 / Tier 4 interim emission  standards construction equipment applications. Current and prospective DEUTZ customers can also expect a comprehensive showcase of components from the DVERT® exhaust after-treatment platform, including DEUTZ Diesel Particulate Filtration and Selective Catalytic Reduction models, along with the engine series TCD 2010, TD 2011, TCD 2012 from its extensive engine program.

As a special feature, DEUTZ will unveil the computer-generated animation of an all-new engine for the construction industry, provisionally named TCD 20XX. The ultra-compact 2.9 liter in-line 4-cylinder diesel is specifically developed to meet the power requirements in the 38 to 75 hp range. The smart design of the 20XX eliminates the need for Diesel Particle Filtration and its associated complex regeneration technology. Its only required exhaust emissions control is Diesel Oxidation Catalyst, an exhaust after-treatment system that is easy to install, cost-effective and practically maintenance-free. With its user-friendly component system for optional attachments, the 20XX offers greater installation flexibility and significantly lower installation and operating costs as compared versus its competitors.

Also presented will be the TCD 2010 L4. This powerful 67 -114 hp 4-cylinder meets all power requirements of the construction industry and US EPA Tier 3 / Tier 4 interim exhaust emissions. Particularly impressive is the 3.6 Liter displacement TCD 2010, with output comparable to that of a 4.5 Liter powerplant, thanks to consistent dimensional downsizing. This compact engine series presents significantly reduced installation costs and boasts an excellent power-to-weight ratio.

Additionally featured at World of Concrete 2010 is the 2011 series, a proven DEUTZ bestseller. This engine family is renowned in the US construction industry as the prime power source for AWPs and welders. Its various series models are available with the DEUTZ integrated cooling system or conventional external cooling system. Below 75 hp, all 2011 series engines meet the strict exhaust requirements of EPA Tier 4 interim.

For the median power range of 91 to 252 hp (@ 2,300 to 2,400 rpm), DEUTZ offers the TCD 2012 for construction equipment. The liquid-cooled, in-line 4- and 6-cylinder models stand out for their simple and low-cost installation, economical operation, great durability and long service intervals. Equipped with turbo-charging with charge air cooler, externally cooled EGR and Diesel Particulate Filtration, this rugged engine distinguishes itself with high power density. Paired with the DVERT® platform, the 2012 is ready for future EU Tier IV and US EPA Tier 4 exhaust levels and meets exhaust standards for off-highway mobile construction equipment per US EPA Tier 4 interim regulations.

DEUTZ’ solutions for the US EPA Tier 3 / Tier 4 interim exhaust emissions control category are varied and many, as are our customers’ requirements. To accommodate these requirements with an eye toward future emissions guidelines, DEUTZ has developed the DEUTZ Variable Emissions Reduction Technology (DVERT®) platform, a modular system of advanced technologies,
each specifically engineered into the tier of DEUTZ engine configurations. Its compatibility of individual components allows for unmatched integration of engine and exhaust technologies to
achieve custom power and emissions-control solutions. Each DVERT® element – external technology for exhaust after treatment, such as Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC), Diesel Particulate
Filter (DPF) in open and closed configurations, exhaust afterburner for regeneration and systems for Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) – delivers the maximum result: prime engine performance,
uncompromising emissions compliance and competitiveness. The DVERT® technology platform represents the solution on which to meet even lower future emissions limitations without major modifications, delivering higher output and dynamics improve engine performance, while lowering fuel consumption and exhaust emissions.
