Changes with respect to Chairman of the Supervisory Board of DEUTZ AG

Today, the chairman of the Supervisory Board, Dr. Giuseppe Vita, has informed the company that he intends to resign from the Supervisory Board of the company as of July 31, 2009. The company regrets this and thanks Dr. Vita for his successful activities as chairman of the Supervisory Board since 2006.

Dr. Giuseppe Vita declares: "After I enjoyed serving the company in times of transition (new main shareholder, new members of the Executive Board including chairman) and having recently seen through the changes of the Executive Board (reduction from 4 to 3 members, new CFO) I would now like to concentrate on other matters." Massimo Bordi, CEO of the main DEUTZ shareholder SAME DEUTZ-FAHR (holding 45.1% of the shares) and member of the Supervisory Board of DEUTZ, comments: "Giuseppe Vita was a successful Chairman of the Supervisory Board. We wish him all the best for the future." At the same time Mr. Bordi, also with the support of the shareholder AB Volvo (holding 6.7% of the shares of DEUTZ), expressed the intention to propose Mr. Lars-Göran Moberg as successor of Dr. Vita for the election as a new Chairman of the Supervisory Board. Already today, Mr. Moberg is a member of the Supervisory Board. Mr. Bordi adds: “In the current economic environment, it is just logical that additional time needs to be spent on the position as Chairman of the Supervisory Board. Mr. Moberg, who has been active in our

industry for more than 15 years (he also held a position as President of Volvo Powertrain Corporation for AB Volvo until 2008) is the ideal candidate for such a challenge.”
